About Morgan

Happy Monday, fellow Panthers! I am incredibly excited to be working with Chris, Jeff, and the Northern Iowan for this NISG election cycle.

My name is Morgan Johnson and I am a senior Studio Art (Graphic Design) major with Psychology and Marketing minors. In NISG I currently hold the position of Director of Public Relations for the Walrath-Goldsmith administration. While I have not held any other position within NISG, I have been a part of both the Bockmann/Palomo (2009) and Walrath/Goldsmith (2011) campaign teams working with campaign design and media.

Over the course of the past four years I have been a part of the Campbell Hall Senate, UNI Mac User Group, Honors Student Advisory Board, and a sports writer for the Northern Iowan, in addition to the jobs I have held as a campus representative for Apple, a graphic designer for the Department of Residence, and a resident assistant in Campbell Hall.  I currently am a part of Connecting Alumni to Students (CATS), Student Admissions Ambassadors (SAA), University Honors Peer Program, and the UNI Harry Potter Club in addition to my role in NISG.

During the next two weeks I will be giving the readers of this blog insight into the PR and marketing strategies of each of the campaigns.  Everything from their websites, social media, print advertising, and grassroots campaigning will be covered.  My goal is to objectively review each of these campaigns using the knowledge I have gained within my major and minors, my student organizations, my current involvement in NISG, and my past experiences on campaign teams.

I will be reading the comments of all of the posts and would love to interact with the readers of this blog.  If you have any questions you would like to direct to me personally, please feel free to send me an email.

Disclosure:  I have relationships with five of the six candidates, but I am not (and do not plan on) serving on any of their campaign teams.  I have known Jordan since our freshman year when we lived in Campbell Hall, and we currently work together in NISG.  As an RA last year, both KaLeigh and Beth were my residents in Campbell Hall, and I currently live on the same floor as them in Campbell.  I also regularly work with KaLeigh in her capacity as an NISG senator.  Living in Campbell, I regularly interact with Trevor in his role as a resident assistant.  Lastly, Kyle and I both are current members of the Student Admissions Ambassadors and the NISG cabinet.
